Hi Folks

Lately I have been struggling mightily with brain fog and lack of concentration with finishing tasks either in the home or when i was working, what tricks do you have to help with focus and cleaning up the brain fog?

Hello, sorry to hear you are struggling with this issue. Curious..are you taking Prograf (Tacrolimus)? I had this issue and so many more when I was on that drug.

I switched from Tacrolimus to Sirolimus due to my brain fog. It has improved, but I still have some memory fog. I have found writing helps. Lists help with not just shopping. Make lists for tasks. Journaling helps with getting your thoughts together. Get a nice pen and a nice planner you like and will actually use. I hope this helps.

Same, I switched from Tacrolimus to Belatacept infusions and all of my symptoms went away. Prior to that I used reminders on my phone and sticky notes on my bathroom mirror. I also set reminders for every 3 hours to get up and walk or do a chore and that helped as well,

The worst is when I forget what I'm saying mid sentence. We call it my buffering because I'll just sit there spinning my wheels trying to remember where I was going with a point. Sometimes it comes back to me, sometimes it doesn't. I'm not sure if its my meds or my adhd (though I do have a feeling they're connected) but I've gotten really good at learning to laugh it off.

I also write notes for everything. I have both an analog and a digital version so I can make sure I don't miss anything. I've also learned intentionally multitasking (like doing something with my hands while I'm listening or pairing listening to a podcast with a chore like laundry or dishes) helps keep my brain a little more focused.

I've implemented a lot of ADHD/neurodivergent brain hacks and those seem to work well for me. Let me know if you want more tips - I've collected lots!

Those all sound like good moves to make! I think there is a search you can do on Google for memory booster puzzles. They may sound simple, but I think they may be helpful for some. Also, I noticed when I was in water restriction, I felt the same way. Maybe ask your doc if you can incorporate more oils and omegas? You may already be doing this. What about that brain boost med in TV? Noriva I think? Maybe it will be compatible with your meds. Unfortunately the side effects from our meds before and after transplant can be a challenge to navigate. Best wishes my friend. 💚
