I have been a type 2 diabetic for about 5 years now and I have looked for information about managing my diabetes. Ironically I run on the low side. But my endocrinologist and I do not always see eye-to-eye and for me its incredible frustrating. I have been using a CGM for several months now because its easier than sticking my finger to determine where my sugars sit. Plus when I started using it I realized my sugars were higher than I realized. I also take 10mg of Jardiance. I try to walk a few times a week and generally I do eat right.

I am curious if there are others on here who are in the same situation and what your experiences are like. Thank you

    hi XmasKidney,

I was type 2 diabetic for about 3 or 4 years before. I took glipizide and it was keeping it in check. I also had to prick my finger and after a while it was painful and all of my fingers were hurting. Then I started to keep a lifestyle of losing weight. But the time I lost about 70 lbs, I took my pill one morning and felt very light headed. I checked with my doctor and realized that I no longer had to have it. It was gone, my glucose levels were fine and still are. I try to keep my weight down, watch my sugars, not as much as I used to and it helped. I think every case is different, but that is my experience with all of it. I have a friend who had the same thing, and after losing a lot of weight, depending on where you are of course, he also didn't have type 2 any longer. Hope this somehow helps.
