Colitis induced by medication?

Has anyone struggled with GI issues and Colitus post transplant. I see a GI doc this week and want to discuss my mycrophenalate. I have read that it causes drug induced colitis. Has anyone heard of this or experienced this side effect?

I have! With my first kidney transplant, it happened about two years after I started taking Myfortic, so I stopped taking it. That was 20 years ago, and my medical records don’t go back that far, so I only had a vague memory of Myfortic causing the colitis.
With my new kidney, we decided to try Myfortic again. Sure enough, about two months later, I developed colitis. It cleared up once I stopped taking the Myfortic.
I had much more GI issues on Myfortic as well. I hope you get some answers and I love that you are reading up and getting your questions ready ahead of time! Let us know what you find out at your appointment and best of luck :)
