Do any of you transplant patients experience pain in the old, diseased kidneys? Can you feel the tenderness through your back ever? So curious about your experiences!

I did for a while after transplant. I developed the itchiness about 6 months prior to my transplant and continued to feel it for about 6 months after transplant. Occasionally, I think I can feel them still... Usually then I go and drink some water. Its probably just my brain's way of reminding me to stay hydrated, or maybe I do still feel them...

My native kidneys shriveled up from Lupus Nephritis. They used to look for them on the ultrasound but after about 6 years with a transplant they eventually stopped looking. I do wonder where exactly they went though.

Ive always felt kidney aches and pains from my diseased kidneys. They are injured, ya know? I feel them. I try to give that area of my body a lot of love and self-care through movement and massage.
