Kidney
Patient Advocates and top burning questions for dialysis patients
As a community I have been thinking about patients who are on dialysis specifically but this can also be helpful for anyone with any organ transplant.
My question is what are the top 5 things that you consider about looking for a living donor for a kidney? What do you look to ask your providers about this big ask? As a patient are you more passive about asking? Or are you more aggressive? (not sure thats the exact word i want to use, but its what i first thought of) Would love this dialogue, I am interested in collecting information about finding the blindspots in healthcare and how we can fill those gaps with making sure the patient gets heard and their questions answered.

I was passive about asking for a live kidney donor. I was reading the following article about different approaches in regards to starting that conversation.
