    This was a great summary of the donor issue at hand. Thanks for sharing the article! It's such a tricky topic because finding the money to pay for organs would be difficult for many and I agree that some people may do it because they need cash and regret it later. However, I do like that there is a program that can reward donors and given that there is a separate team for the donor and the recipient, it still ensures that the donor well-being remains a priority. Donors are also evaluated from the psychological stand point so I am sure that this would help ensure that the decision is not strictly infulenced by money. In terms of government spending, I think there is a lot that has to be done in the world of dialysis to reduce the cost and simply increasing the number of transplants will not have an imediate impact on that financial aspect of it. At least not fast enough.

    You pose a great question whether altruism is enough. I don't think it is but that is also becasue so many organs are wasted in the process so there are many aspects of donation that need to be cleaned up in order for the system to be more efficient. Jeanmarie posted a great article video about it on the forum.
