Definitely check with your doctor! They'll have a better idea what is within normal range for you and if there's anything to be concerned about
I am my appointment is in Manhattan is July
Quite the opposite for me! The steroids make me hungry ALL the time! I try my best to portion control, but it's hard! Food is my last vise! I can eat a full meal and 5 minutes later you'll see me digging through the fridge 😒
That side of prednisone is sucks sooooooo much. Majority of its side effects are the worst but that inability to satisfy an appetite is awful. It used to be like that for me too! I would always be counting down to my next meal and I could eat until it would make me sick.
So if it used to be like that for you too what did you change? Cuz every diet I've tried to go on doesn't work... Mostly cuz I'm a single dad of two boys that I have to cook for! And while I need to lose weight they don't! It's really hard to make a big pot of food and not partake😆
I even asked my nephrologist about these new drugs that people are taking to lose weight... Just to see if I could use it to counter that effect... But she basically told me I wouldn't be eligible for it so I would have to pay out of pocket
when i got my 2nd transplant my blood pressure was in the 80 so they gave me 20 pounds of water to compensate the kidney and the blood pressure. as they gave me more fluid i started having pain around my side and back come to find out that the fluid i had around my kidney was causing the pain they did a ultrasound and they had to put in a drain to remove the fluid so far since Friday the drain has removed 14 pounds and the pain is gone should get the drain removed next week
@DeadMeat Oh man, that is a tough situation! Completely understandable. I wish I had some good advice but I don't unfortunately. They decreased my dose overtime and I have been taking 5mg for almost 8 years now, which doesn't drive my appetite AS much as the higher doses. I do take an ADHD med which used to really decrease my appetite but over the years that wore off too. I try to just stick to my 3 meals without snacking and I exercise regularly but it took me years to cut out the snacking. I go through periods where I am good about it and not.
