I was blessed to have a place called "Twice Blessed House" my wife and I stayed in post-transplant. Not free, but very inexepensive and was thus able to stay just blocks from the hospital during my 2-month recovery. I made a donation to TBH as a memorial to the donor I didn't know.
It's not about money. Just about remembering, recognizing, and giving back in some meaningful way. Showing deep appreciation.
That's a wonderful idea. I can definitely donate to the wonderful Brent's Place where I stayed. They were so wonderful. Thank you so much for that idea @SteveJPearson!
I am 4 months post transplant. It was so beneficial and so humbling to talk to others before this decision and process, I decided to be a mentor to others, to assist with information or answer any questions from my personal experience.
@jdanishevsky It feels so good to be able to be comfort and real understanding about the transplant process to others. 4 months. How are you doing? What organ?

It was a kidney transplant. I have had one kidney since 2010, which started to decline in 2023. I am doing well, a few hiccups, minor rejection recently, but overall feel blessed. Thank you for asking.
