How many of you???????

how many of you have kidney disease with an autoimmune disorder?

just when you think kidney disease is tough to manage, adding an autoimmune disease, like in my case, Lupus, can make your health very hard to manage.

When you have symptoms of fatigue, weakness, muscle aches etc. which to blame?? how do you differentiate?

Let me know what your cocktail of diseases are??

I know that Lupus can cause kidney disease.

I was a type 1 diabetic which is an autoimmune disease and T1d causes kidney disease. I had a kidney and pancreas transplant 23 years ago

I have Wegener's Granulomitosis and it comes with a boat load of rheumatology related issues. I get a lot of joint pain especially as the weather gets cold and I definatelty have spells of exteremy fatigue. I always laugh that you just never know what could be causing it

Congrats on so many years with your kidney and pancreas transplant. My Lupus nephritis caused my kidneys to fail, i'm in my 2nd kidney failure now.

Right!!! when i have those symptoms, its hard to tell which disease is causing them. the best you can do is take the meds that treats the synptoms, knowing its like putting on a band aid on something that's not going to heal

Oh man, you got hit with multiple autoimmune diseases! Did any of those come at the same time as your initial lupus diagnosis?

They say autoimmune disorders come in pairs so I am prepared that one of these days I may get diagnosed with something new that might shed light on some of the symptoms I have from time to time. Or maybe my current immunosuppresive regiment will keep it quiet...who knows!

I feel like some of the symptoms are from the immune suppressant meds. Bad as it is, rejection is way worse. Wish they’d come up with new immune suppressants that don’t cause so many other issues but the FDA doesn’t care bc they’d have them by now if they did.

No Dom, these illnesses came back to back over a period of time. Just when I thought I had smooth sailing from symptoms, here comes new symptoms that led to another diagnosis.

I hope and pray you don't get a new diagnosis, keep up your anti inflammatory meds and do a lot of self care.

in my case, this is true!! I hated it because now you need another perscription to add on for the side effect. that's what got me to take 30 pills at one time. Geeeeeeez!! If i knew in the 1990's what I know today, so many pills would of been dismissed due to natural remedies.
